Terms of Use
Last updated: July 7, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the What2Text: AI Message Writer iOS application (the “App”) and the website what2text.app (the “Site”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App or Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
1. The Service
What2Text uses artificial intelligence to generate suggested text messages based on situations you describe. Suggestions are exactly that — suggestions. You decide what to send, to whom, and you are solely responsible for the messages you send and their consequences.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
- The App is free to download. Certain features require a paid subscription or one-time purchase (“Premium”).
- Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
- Prices may change; changes apply to future billing periods after reasonable notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App or Site to:
- generate messages that harass, threaten, defame, or deceive others;
- send spam or unsolicited commercial messages;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity in a harmful way;
- generate content that is unlawful, or that exploits or harms minors in any way;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the operation of the App or Site;
- violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
5. AI-Generated Content
AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate for your context, or not reflect your intent. Review every message before sending it. What2Text does not provide professional advice — messages relating to relationships, grief, health, legal, or financial matters are general suggestions, not counsel from a qualified professional. To the extent permitted by law, you own the message text you generate with the App and may use it freely.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, Site, and all associated branding, design, guides, and software are owned by What2Text or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SUGGESTION WILL ACHIEVE ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WHAT2TEXT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, RELATIONSHIPS, OPPORTUNITIES, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY MESSAGE YOU CHOOSE TO SEND. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless What2Text from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, the messages you send, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be indicated by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which What2Text is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
